One of my favorite things about summer is going to the Farmers’ Market. My weekly trip to the market makes up a bulk of my grocery bill in the summer, giving my family the opportunity to eat fresh, locally grown food and try many new things that we wouldn’t try otherwise. Never have I lived in a place where my errands were so enjoyable.
Before I went to the market, I didn’t even know I had options for different varieties of kale, asparagus, and many others. Farmers and their families offer cooking tips and recipes free of charge, with a smile on their face.
And we have the local gardening expert.
Thanks to the Stillwater Farmers’ Market for filling my home with beautiful produce and for filling my Saturday mornings with excellent conversations. And a special thanks to Windy Acres Natural Farm, Cindy Alexander, and Woodland Park Vineyard and Farm for allowing me to document our morning.
