47/365: Guitar

Personal, Project 365

With getting married, moving, and starting new jobs a couple years ago, one hobby that got put aside for a while was music.  We both play instruments but have hardly touched them recently.  Over the last few weeks, we’ve both decided to start practicing again.  This may have led to some impromptu early Christmas carols.

46/365: Big 12 Cross Country

Project 365

Oklahoma State hosted the Big 12 Cross Country Championships this year.  My husband experienced his first cross country meet.  He likened it to a battalion – when the race starts, many of the spectators start running, too.  We all have plans of where we’ll meet runners on the course.  The cowboys and cowgirls each got slow starts in their races, but both teams pulled ahead and brought home the title.  Go Pokes!

45/365: Fangirl

Personal, Project 365

Remember when I wrote a post on guilty pleasures about how much I love Ree Drummond?  Well, I got to meet her!  After two and a half hours of lines and good conversation with others waiting for the book signing of Pioneer Woman’s new cookbook, I had a quick conversation with Ree.  We talked about my move to Oklahoma and how much we both love Stillwater.  She said she loved my long hair (and I acted like a teenager when I was instantly thankful I hadn’t cut it off the week before).  My husband came to take pictures, so I pointed to him and said, “He appreciates all of your cooking, too.”  Ree responded with, “Oh! The beneficiary! Nice to meet you!”  The teenage fangirl in me had a smile all night long.  Ree Drummond, I know you’ll never read this, but if you do…thank you for showcasing some of the unique culture of Oklahoma on your show, and thank you for motivating me to really learn how to cook things that my husband likes!

And disclaimer…I know I should take my own pictures in Project365.  But this day was too big to not include.  Top three celebrities I want to meet are Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and Ree Drummond.  Amy Poehler ranks pretty high up there, too. Yes, meeting Pioneer Woman was that big.
